Address suggestions: make address entry easier in Shopware
Help customers enter their shipping and billing details. From three characters onwards, supported forms can suggest addresses to select.
Select a suggestion instead of retyping fields
The customer starts with the street, then selects a suggestion. The form fills in the street, postcode and town returned by the service.
The country is filled in when a form option matches the label received. Customers must check the fields and complete any missing information, including additional delivery details.
Different sources depending on the country
Search uses api-adresse.data.gouv.fr for France. Outside France, it uses Google Places if a key has been provided; results are normalised to a common format.
The current availability of these services, country coverage and required access must be checked before activation. A configured source does not ensure that any given address will be suggested.
Keep manual entry and check dependencies
If no suggestion is suitable or the service returns no result, the fields must be completed manually. A suggestion makes entry easier; it certifies neither the address nor whether delivery is possible.
Quotas, key restrictions, the processing of entered data and keyboard use must be validated on the selected forms. Interface settings must not be treated as server-side access controls by country or channel.
