Enriched search: products, brands, categories and blog posts in Shopware
From the first words, customers open a clear, complete search. The overlay presents products as a listing and surfaces other useful entries to find or discover an offer.
Open search without leaving the page
Search opens in a full-page or near-full-page overlay. Customers can enter their need without being sent immediately to a results page.
Products are presented as a listing: they retain useful catalogue cues for comparison and for opening the right product page.
Show more than products
The same search can bring together products, categories, brands, text suggestions and published, visible blog posts. It helps customers both find a known reference and discover a range or useful advice.
Blog is part of FroggShop and its posts are indexed to take part in suggestions. Other result types can be added according to project needs and their integration contract.
Find a known reference
Logistics references entered on products feed the search index. For customers to find a product using such a reference, the fields queried by the engine must be configured and results tested in the shop.
Populating the index and obtaining a search result are two separate steps. Reference search must therefore be validated against real catalogue data.
Manage search with the e-commerce team
The e-commerce team defines which result types to highlight, their display limits and the business searches to check. OpenSearch is a project configuration dependency, not a promise of ready-to-use relevance settings.
The engine falls back to native shop suggestions when enriched mode is not allowed. A sample of searches helps identify missing results, exact references and suggestions to adjust.
Evolve search with the catalogue
Filters within search are a future development to scope: they must complement the listing without making input cumbersome or creating unvalidated SEO claims.
Other developments can include new result types, presentation rules specific to a sales channel, or relevance evaluation carried out separately with authorised teams.
