Pre-orders: distinguish products ahead of release in Shopware
Clearly identify products with an upcoming release. FroggShop uses the product release date to distinguish pre-orders from immediate availability.
Identify an offer before release
A future release date identifies a product as a pre-order. This marker helps communicate availability rather than presenting it as an item available immediately.
Respect the catalogue’s purchase eligibility rules
In the sales context, pre-order status is considered after product eligibility and quantity checks. It does not make a product purchasable if the shop’s rules block it.
The team enters the release date and maintains availability data. Visibility, stock and quantity rules continue to apply to the purchase journey.
Define the terms of selling ahead of availability
A release date is not a guaranteed delivery date. Customer messaging and the handling of a postponement must be defined with your operations team.
Special pricing, a deposit, deferred capture or stock reservation cannot be inferred from this pre-order status. These requirements need a separate assessment.
